Program Costs

The total program costs (about $10,000) can be found right here on our budget sheet: https://gpglobalea.gp.psu.edu/index.cfm?FuseAction=Programs.BudgetSheet&Term=Summer&Program_ID=10788

Please rest assured that all costs billable to my students are being kept to a minimum. I will also make sure to show you how to make ends meet in Vienna on a shoestring budget. This certainly can be done!

Resources for Financial Support

Information on scholarships available for participation in study abroad programs (such as the College of the Liberal Arts Student Enrichment Funds) can be found by clicking here on the Office of Global Program’s website: http://global.psu.edu/info/going-abroad/students-abroad/costs-funding-study-abroad/study-abroad-scholarships

Please note: After a student’s application has been accepted and s/he has committed to the program, no deposits are due. Students committed to the program will receive a Penn State bill for the ‘billable items’ (tuition, program fee, tech fee and admin/insurance fee) about the third week in April.  Since the students are registered for their Penn State courses, the bill is the same as it is for any other semester.  If students are ‘out of state’ the adjustment will be made to the bill.

Then, our students need to budget for the ‘non billables’, like flight, personal expenses, food, etc.

Program Withdrawal/Refund Guidelines

Education Abroad makes every attempt at keeping the program and administrative costs to a minimum. However, when you commit to participating in a program, Education Abroad begins to make financial commitments on your behalf. In case of withdrawal, the following fees will be charged to your Bursar account

  • Upon Commitment – 90 Days Prior to Departure: 25% Program Fee + EA Admin Fee
  • 30 – 90 Days Prior to Departure: 50% Program Fee + EA Admin Fee
  • 29 Days – Departure Date: 100% Program Fee + EA Admin Fee

Best of luck for your scholarship applications – let me know how I can help!
